Sketching at the Denver Art Museum in their "Inspiring Impressionist" exhibit. Fascinating exhibit which pairs Old Master works with Impressionist works. I was particularly struck by Manet's painting of Berthe Morisot. The extreme contrast between the dark ground and her porcelain features made me wish I had brought a softer lead pencil along instead of my usual 2H.
